



Ruth is the owner and manager/trainer of Stapleton Farm. Originally from England she has been in the USA for over 10 years and became a citizen in 2007. Ruth has over 10 years teaching and training experience and a B.S. in Psychology and an M.A. in Human Resources. Ruth has earned her USDF Bronze medal on horses she had trained herself and is activley pursing her Silver medal, see below for current awards and standings.
Ruth specializes in bringing along both her own and clients' horses with correct dressage training in a kind and patient manner. These horses have gone on to successfully show at USDF shows and win a variety of Show Championships and USDF Year End awards. Ruth has a wealth of experience and particularly enjoys seeing changes in horses as they progress through the training scale.
In 2008 Ruth showed her own horse Allegro at Third Level and a clients horse - Smoke on the Water at Training and First Level. Both horses attended Regionals and placed and Allegro was the Third Level Freestyle Champion with a Freestyle Ruth choreographed and mixed the music for herself. In 2009 Ruth has sucessfully shown Allegro at Third and Fourth level qualifying for regionals while Her young horses Scirocco and Zabella are staying at home in prepration for the FEI 5 and 6 year old Tests in 2010. Ruth is available for lessons, training and showing of your horses, in addition to taking consignment horses for sales.
In 2007 Ruth was selected to be the
Coach for the Michigan State Intercollegiate Dressage Team. The team rides
at Stapleton Farm during the school year. Ruth has students ranging from
novice level riders learning dressage basics through both Junior and Amateur
riders riding through Third level. Her students have qualified for
regionals and a variety of USDF year end awards. She also has students
with a variety of breeds and ages of horses ranging from three year olds through
schoolmasters. Ruth's students have been successful both in their personal
goals and in the show ring receiving championships and reserve championships at
USDF shows.
Ruth attends clinics with Shannon Peters, Jeanne Mcdonald, Michael Bragdell and rides regularly with Maryal Barnett and Penny Underwood.

Ruth grew up eventing and schooled through Preliminary level, before changing her focus to dressage. She successfully evented multiple horses attending the Area VIII Championships in 2001 and 2002 and also winning the Bob Hutton Award in 2001 aboard an ex-track horse she trained herself - Canyons Gold. In 2001 She received the lowest dressage score in Michigan, was ranked 9th in USEA Area VIII at Novice Level and was the TEAM Reserve Champion for Horse and Rider at Novice level Open. In the winter of 2002 Ruth was a working student for an advanced level 3-day eventer who attended Rolex in 2001, 2002, 2003 and was long listed for Pan Am Games.
