Training Stapleton Farm offers classical and kind Dressage training with USDF Bronze, Silver and Gold Medalist Ruth Hill-Schorsch, Bronze Medalist Katie O'Brien and Young Horse Specialist Sandra Adams. Training programs vary from partial training to full training-we no longer offer board without training/lessons- a minimum of 3 services a week is required. Each horse's program is based on the individual horse and rider's needs. Goals can range from short term training, rehab training from injury, training for sale or long term training with competition goals. We attend USDF shows in Region 2. Cross training is a valuable aspect of our training program when appropriate.
Our young horses do cavaletti, school out in our large hilly riding meadow and hack out through the woods- we have over 75 acres of mown trails to ride on. Our Young Horse rider Sandra also has an eventing background and we add in over fences work if appropriate. These are great experiences for the young horses we start to gain confidence but also to keep any horse mentally fresh and physically well rounded.
Each horse has an individual training plan with either Ruth, Katie or Sandra depending on their needs. We are also happy to meet any competition goals you may have for your horse. Please contact us for individual plans and pricing.
Lessons Lessons are available with Ruth, Sandra or Katie on either your own horse or a school horse. Haul-in clients are also welcome. On occasion, lease horses are available for those clients who would like to take lessons and also ride several days a week on their own. Lease horses may also be shown. We show at USDF shows in Region 2 and enjoy taking a group of clients to shows and providing a supportive atmosphere in which to show. Ruth is available for clinics on a limited basis. Katie and Sandra are both available for off farm lessons and clinics.
